Position/Salary Grade
Assistant Project Manager This position is typically responsible for supporting a Project Manager in directing the completion and financial outcome of a single project or multiple construction projects. Directs and supervises work of Project Administration, Project Superintendents and Engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc. May be capable of managing smaller, less complex projects with limited supervision. Typical position title is Assistant Project Manager.Education/Experience: Entry level.Typical title: Assistant Project Manager.
Project Management – Executive This level is responsible for the overall direction, completion and financial outcome of construction operations or a segment of the company’s construction operations. This position is typically responsible for the guidance and development of all Project Managers under his/her purview. Establishes group operational priorities and is accountable for overall relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc. This position may also have business development responsibilities. Education/Experience: Minimum 15 years in project management.Typical titles: Project Director, Project Executive, Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager.
Project Management – Level 1 This level is responsible for the overall direction, completion and financial outcome of a construction project. Directs and supervises work of project administration, project superintendents and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc. This level is capable of less complex projects, Education/Experience: Minimum 3 years of total experience.Typical Titles: Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager and Project Manager I.
Project Management – Level 2 This level is responsible for the overall direction, completion and financial outcome of a construction project. Directs and supervises work of project administration, project superintendents and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc. Education/Experience: Minimum 5 years of total experience.Typical Titles: Project Manager and Project Manager II.
Project Management – Level 3 This level is responsible for the overall direction, completion and financial outcome of a construction project. Directs and supervises work of project administration, project superintendents and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc. This level is capable of fairly large projects. Education/Experience: Minimum 10 years of total experience.Typical Titles: Senior Project Manager, Project Manager and Project Manager III.
Project Management – Level 4 This level is responsible for the overall direction, completion and financial outcome of a construction project. Directs and supervises work of project administration, project superintendents and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc. This level is capable of large projects of a complex nature and/or multiple projects. Education/Experience: Minimum 15 years of total experience.Typical Titles: Project Executive and Senior Project Manager.
